What is a VA home loan?
The VA home loan was created in in 1944 by the United States government to help returning service members purchase homes without needing excellent credit or a down payment. VA home loans are issued by private lenders and guaranteed by the US Department of Affairs. Some of the many advantages to using your VA loan is there is no PMI to pay, limitation on closing cost and lower interest rates than most loans and can be used to finance a new home or refinance an existing mortgage.
Because my husband is military, we have had the privilege of using the VA home loan option which has been a game changer!
